There's the classic problem: this is the biggest project of your life. You want to talk to your fellow directors over the summer, but they're so far away! You want to talk to your designers, but they simply don't seem to understand why you're planning four months in advance! "Stop bothering me," they say. "I don't care yet." Having a blog lets people talk when they want to talk.
This is a forum for making decisions, planning ahead, and generally being on top of what each of us are doing. After all, the problem most likely to cripple us is lack of communication, and the internet makes communication absurdly easy!
In my first post, I would like to pose some questions about the direction of this blog. They are as follows:
1. Do we want the blog to be public or private? If public, we can offer it as a source of knowledge for future generations. If private, we can talk candidly about our problems.
2. If private, do we invite Cindy and/or our designers to contribute? Or do we keep things just between ourselves?
Let me know! And encourage the directors who haven't joined yet to do so!

I vote for private, so we can be totally candid about our problems (ie talk about our probs with actors and designers). Just my opinion.
I disagree. I think we should definitely invite our designers. This shouldn't be a blog where we bitch about other people and how they're not listening to us. Rather, this should be a venue of dialog to work out those problems with the people we need to work with. Also, Wes, I think you hit it on the nose with your original post, saying that "you want to talk to your designers" over the summer. That's one of the main reasons I joined this blog.
